Spring has arrived! Spring is my favorite time of year. Everything seems to come
alive. Birds fly and play, while singing happily in the morning dawn. The air is
sweet with the smell of fragrant blooming blossoms of all colors. The days are longer
and sun shines brighter & longer than in the winter season. Spring is a beautiful
season. It represents new beginnings and growth.
The simple term ‘new beginning’ sounds wonderful and exciting, but as with many
situations, new beginnings can sometimes come with trials. Trials that will test your
personal faith and willingness to endure change. One of my favorite scriptures is
found in Isaiah 43:18-20. God is speaking and He says: Do not remember the former
things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall
spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert. God literally had to drill it into our heads that He is doing
a new thing! He wants us to forget the past and look ahead to the new.
This scripture has always brought me great joy. I am simply thrilled knowing that
God is going to do a new thing in my life. However, new things require new
attitudes and periods of adjustment. When you think of something new, you may
automatically assume it is going to be wonderful and exciting, and often times it is.
But, there are times when the ‘new thing’ will probably not be what you perceived it
to be.
New beginnings will often require letting go. Letting go is not always easy. People often want to stay stuck
in the familiar. But why stay in the familiar when God wants to give you the Divine? Don’t ever let any
circumstance, situation, or person (including yourself) stop you from embracing the new things that God
has specifically for your life. A new beginning may come in the form of a lay off, a broken relationship, or
the loss of something or someone you deemed valuable. Just remember that God never takes away without
having something more wonderful to give. The new may not always take the place of the previous, but it
will fill certainly the void, if you let it.
Remember that new beginnings bring fresh hope, light, life and greater understanding. So let the spring
season begin! Allow God shower you with new beginnings. He is doing a new thing. Let go of the past and
spring forward into your future. Behold, God is doing a new thing, tailor made just for you!

One example of this would be a newly married couple. After the vows of
forever are given, the cake is cut, and the electric slide has taken place, they
have to learn live together harmoniously. In between moments of wedded
bliss, there will be periods of adjustment that may not feel so good. When
you are single and used to doing things your way on your own time, a new
spouse may cause some irritation. There are two different people attempting
to learn one another and, some change will be required on both parts. When
you are promoted or blessed with a new job, you will have to adjust to a new
way of performing, so that you can excel and flourish. Change is an
imminent part of life. You can either embrace change or try to avoid it, but
in time, change and new things will come.
